Wow, that's quite a difference! The switch in the lower left interests me the most...where'd it lead off to? And did it cross the track that switches off in the bottom left of my photo? How about those spurs on the right? Where'd THEY go? Also, just beyond the Godfrey street crossing I can see some ...

You've got some great pictures! Is that silver Mazda yours? I've seen you around if it is. Hope to meet you at the yard someday. Yes, that is mine. Were you at Judd St. on Friday when I pulled in there for a minute before BNSF 5967 pulled out of there? I told Zack I was there and saw a couple of gu...

Thanks, Ron. Unfortunately I don't have much more. I'd love to spend every day out shooting (preferably out west in the mountains...something I've never done before and can only dream about at this time), but I'm rarely able to make the time. I know having a scanner could greatly increase my odds at...

Alright, I suppose that's it for now. I have a few more, but don't want to overdo my introduction. :)

Are pictures normally posted in this part of the forum, or is there an area more preferred for it?

While I am by no means a profotinal (sorry I must appolige again as I cant spell verry good) photographer, but I think city scens can be just as good. Just dont over look them. Oh, I'm sure of it, but I guess with my landscape photography frame of mind, the thought of finding remote locations to sh...

Thanks, Matt. Hopefully I can find a decent scanner soon and actually start planning my shots more carefully. It's just dumb luck right now, being in the right place at the right time (except for the Amtrak shots). :D I prefer to shoot AWAY from the city as much as I can. I'd rather be out in the co...

I'd like to add another spot that is great for railfanning. There is an old bridge that links Potter Park Zoo with the adjacent neighborhood to the north that is a great spot over the CN line. It's quite easy to climb down the embankments on each side if you'd like to a get a good picture in either ...

New Here

Just stumbled across this site yesterday and had a chance to chat with Zack last night. Great stuff I've seen so far! Even though I've been a railfan all my life (39 at the moment), I've spent much of that time chasing & photographing trains by myself and with no help of a scanner. So, there is MUCH...
