Re: CN Train Location Updates - January 2023
Thanks CRD. It seems like Nolan would have communicated that to CN but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't. 5456 northbound in Pontiac Yard with a boxcar and long string of loaded centerbeams. It looks like the Warren Local. Why is it carrying loaded centerbeams northbound? Those centerbeams are ...

5456 northbound in Pontiac Yard with a boxcar and long string of loaded centerbeams. It looks like the Warren Local. Why is it carrying loaded centerbeams northbound? Those centerbeams are for the transload by 8 Mile which is south of here. Edit: Manistique posted at the same time I did so that answ...

Thank you for posting this.
I didn't see any engines from the MI lines on either lists or did I miss something?

Thank you. This is one of my favorite parts of the hobby.
I also enjoy seeing what trains cars travel in from their origin to their destination.

From the engine numbers I’d guess GDLK

Thank you for the suggestion. For now I can track everything in my head but as it grows the Card Order System is definitely in consideration.David Collins wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 6:56 pmLooks great Don! If I were you, I'd do a card order system for your layout, given how many industries you have.

Thank you LRF. I amended Wiki. As always comments, etc. are welcome.LansingRailFan wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 9:54 amSince November 2022, GLC has been using crew-specific symbols to ID trains. The classic OSTN/ONTN/CSTN/CNTN have been done away with by GLC.

Nice that you had an operating session already! I'd like to try operating your layout. I had a couple guys come operate mine for the first time about a week ago and things went pretty well. Looking forward to more updates. Thank you for your feedback. At this time, it is set up for one person to op...

Re: GLC RR
Occasionally there will be a day and night job out of Cadillac going in different directions. Another rule of thumb is that if a CNTN runs then there will not be an ONTN to Clare because the Cadillac crew won't run a CSTN on that day, instead the ONTN crew will usually run to Middleton or something ...

Re: Richmond, Romeo & Rochester (RR&R)
First operating session today. In around 2-2.5 hours accomplished 60-75% of a full session. I'd give the overall performance an 7 or 8 out of 10. - I still need to add feeder wires to reduce dead spots. I would estimate there are 15-20 dead spots. My Athearn engines stutter but pass through most of ...

Osmer still might be used for the Toledo North Turn and Owosso South Turn to exchange trains The obvious one would be to that no more interchange at Osmer. What would happen with the small yard there? Remove it or use it for storage? Given how the current arrangement is versus when the old Annie was...

Re: Mancelona
The feed mill received rail service back in the MIGN days (Biehls Feeds and later Ellsworth Farmer Exchange) but I don't know if they ever got anything from TSBY. However, TSBY delivered well drilling supplies to that same siding including drilling mud and pipe. Has that building in Mancelona that t...
