Nice catch! That first pic looks an awful lot like the prairies of Canada….not the prairie of Romulus, lol.

Re: UP Refreshes Locomotive Paint Scheme, Keeping Iconic Flag Design

I agree with DaveO, but I think the decision to move the flag to the front flank was made 100% because of the discoloration and destruction of the flag graphic on the carbody sides. It’s no joke Armour Yellow does not seem to age well, the flags usually look terrible. I really like the billboard let...

Y121 is presently rearranging the deck chairs with the covered hoppers at Plastcore, Zeeland. They brought one load down with them, rearranged the load that was already on the spur to the prime unloading position, and are taking one empty back with them. CSXT 6035 for power as usual. 📸

Re: I rode Amtrak and I have a lot to say...

So you don’t see a late train as Amtrak’s love for rail fans with more time spent on the train? 😆 I think all of this just illustrates that no matter what, so much of every trip can be out of Amtrak’s control. Or it is Amtrak’s control. Or a combination. ITCS failure, electrical failure, dispatching...

DEHOCO, Detroit House of Corrections. The lower half of Salem Hill. Actually, I’ve heard some people refer to it as DEHOCO Hill, but I think they were mostly old heads. The prison has been gone for a few decades.

It seemed like the Kalamazoo-Elkhart/NS road freight turn has been all over the place in timing and days of operation for several months. Is it back on any kind of a regular schedule now? Does the 105 job still do the daily turn from Kzoo down to Bristol and back to work industries? TIA!

Re: Lake States passenger train in Gaylord

All of this linguistic expertise makes sense since the railroad only runs in Michigan therefore is it just a single ‘state,’ there is no multiple about it! Related question, Lsrc has assembled a pretty interesting OCS/passenger consist over the years. Does anyone have a roster of the whole passenger...

Re: Train IDs for Plymouth Traffic

This looks like a pretty complete list! In the old D symbol local days, there was a D717 that worked between Plymouth and Rougemere (maybe on to Livernois, too?) that swapped Plymouth freight blocks, so no manifests would have to stop to do Plymouth work. Is there a job that still does that? If not,...
