Re: Young photographer documents his years of hoboing
Very interesting. I'm sure it's quite a tough live to live like that permanently, but it has some sort of appeal even if it's a irrational one. It would be interesting to experience that lifestyle, always on the road, only you holding you back from anything you want to do. Although it would probably...

An unnamed short line shoving some cars through a curve, uphill on wet rail, they had two locos, but not MU'd.
One engineer to the other, "Go easy through the curve, then kick her in ass! She'll bite back otherwise"

Re: ND&W Radio Frequencies?
Also, many if not all of the police freqs have gone digital and I cannot even pick them up on my Uniden scanner Only very select areas, there's 2-3 agencies(Macomb/Oakland notably) that are using encryption on dispatch channels in the general Detroit area. Jackson, Lenawee, Hillsdale, Ingham(IIRC) ...

Re: ND&W Radio Frequencies?
As far as ND&W freqs, or any freqs really, most scanners have a search function where you can search a whole band(aircraft, marine, railroads, etc) the railroad band isn't huge so just do a search and you'll get it with in a few minutes if there's chatter on a freq.

Yeah they're going to put them on the dinner train in Charlotte along with the dome car and charge $198.95 a seat.Someone else told me that JAIL now has or was getting 2 E8 locomotives.
And if you believe that I have some ocean front property in Kansas for sale...

Re: Jackson & Lansing equipment
I had also heard that they were due the be sent back shortly. By guess is there was an issue getting them off the line and they may be around a while till that's resolved, so might as well use them in the meantime. As for can the JAIL operate with 2 locos? Probably isn't ideal as I'd imagine a large...

I would imagine the radio channels would stay the same, when I am home from school I'm in radio range, so I can keep a ear out and see.

Tonight I've gotta sort out what track I have and what I need yet. Sunday I'll be over at the Monroe train show and will try to get what I can for fairly...
