Second engine is 3270. The 71 cars are all for Webberville. This is a unit potash train from the CPKC.
Is this an operational change? I seem to remember these trains coming with CPKC power via Plymouth.

Do GLC engines normally leave the property at any point (other than interchange locations)? Do AA engines travel beyond an interchange?
Almost never. Last time a GLC unit left the property was for Train Day in Toledo years ago.

Re: Elon Musk wants to privatize Amtrak

What makes me so disappointed with Amtrak is that they mismanaged a lot of their money and it went to regional areas like Amtrak Midwest and Amtrak California and etc. Amtrak has not "mismanaged a lot of their money" with regional areas. Both examples listed are state-supported operations funded pr...

Re: Cincinnati Northern remains in Jackson

No, it has not been used in a few decades according to a few of the NS Jackson crews. Weird unit. I think I figured out these were rebuilt by Chattahoochee Locomotive. A few similar units also exist: https://www.railpictures.net/photo/738746/ Yes CLCX rebuilt a number of these, mainly for coal mine...

Does Worthington still use this little critter and is there a history on it?

According to Google Maps it's still there.

I've seen a few 303s with wells, sometimes loaded, over the past two years. No numbers from me either however.

Re: Study Time....again - A2TC commuter rail project

Before we get a train Detroit to Traverse City we need a train operation between Detroit to Michigan City via the C&O. Tracks are there, has a signal system, very little freight interference though may have to make some sidings longer. Connect Detroit with Lansing, Grand Rapids, Holland, Michigan C...

Michigan Line Freight Contract

Seeking info on the freight contract between Amtrak/MDOT and Norfolk Southern for the Michigan Line. Figure since MDOT is a public entity maybe I would be able to find some financial numbers on their deal.

I wonder if Watco has any other situations where it interchanges with itself in this way?
While they have a few railroads which come close, no Watco operation directly interchanges with another.

Re: Watco assuming full ownership of GLC

Grand Elk Railroad, and Fox Valley & Lake Superior Railroad have what look like shared/interchange trackage up in the UP & into WI, both of which are Watco companies. Technically yes but the line has been out of service since before Watco purchased it. We don't know how an operation would take plac...

It's too bad if the Milan interchange is no longer a thing. I know the auto parts boxcars were a part of that. Does NS still base a local there? Re: Ann Arbor Railroad Trains

I forgot about Urania siding. That too is used for car storage. At one time Urania siding had a spur that crossed Platt Rd into the old Mental Hospital where Toyota now is. They used to get coal for the on-site power plant and likely other loads as well. I dont know when that spur was pulled, but I...

Re: Ann Arbor Railroad Trains

As I understand it, the AA serves as the GLC's connection to NS, as well as the HESR's / Mid-Michigan connection to NS via the GLC. Additionally, the AA acts the connection for the HESR (and maybe Mid-Michigan) to the IORY system. How much traffic is actually interchanged at Diann? Every time I've ...

Re: Ann Arbor Railroad Trains

It's about 1-2x a week last year. Maybe they got rid of it as the dispatcher said, idk. Ah well that stinks.... It would still be a good place to railfan, considering you can catch a good amount of NS trains and some AA traffic. If only they ran their heritage unit on the grainers, from what I've h...
