Re: Finally got my YouTube started

So I've been on leave from work because of an emergency appendix surgery a week ago. I'm out for two weeks because of this and missed out on taking a railfan trip to Durand during its Rail Days Festival. Trust me I was bummed about that. However, It gave me perfect time to actually start making my ...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

I figured it was some type of Lumberyard. As far as Ferrous, the tracks were somewhat shiny that day so maybe they did run a train slowly through. I'm planning to go back up there again on Wednesday evening and maybe I'll get to see up closer L513 switch out the lumber car. Their times can vary but...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

Bolyard's transload is by Baldwin Ave. They got a center beam last week and seem to average 2-6 cars a month. Ferrous Processing Trading is usually serviced on Wednesday afternoon. They seem to send out a car a week. Very disappointing for a scrap yard of that size. They could ship 20-30 a week but...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

So I caught the local L513 on Wednesday in the distance I think switching out a car for a lumberyard or some business over by Baldwin Avenue. I was hoping to see the train come through Price street since that's where I was standing. Does anyone know what business that was they were switching the rai...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

I drove by Great Lakes Crossing Drive today and it seems that CN may be preparing to take this crossing down. A pair of lights, a gate and an E-bell have been removed from one of the sides.

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

The stamping plant has not shipped since last September. I’ve seen the local use that track and back to the yard after switching the scrap yard Ah dang it, I must have just missed it then. Do you have any videos or know a user who has posted videos of trains going through that line? I would like to...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

So I drove by the active portion of the line in Pontiac today and I went to Price Street (The Y Crossing, since the tracks split up into 2) and the right track was actually shiny like something recently came through. The left one though was pretty rusty. Wonder if they had a train maybe go to the st...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

RKR... These tracks run through my stomping grounds. Both of the Joslyn Road track crossings (MP 5.56 & 5.84), north of the Brown/Joslyn intersection, are tagged with the yellow exempt signs (North and South bound on Joslyn). In addition, there are smaller black and white exempt signs just before e...

Drove by Giddings Road today, Exempt signs have been put up. Only on this road though, Silverbell and the other crossings south haven't been touched.

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

The last time I saw the Belt Line getting switched was last August/September. They pulled 6-7 cars from the stamping plant and another 7-8 from the scrap yard. Since then I will see about a car a week at Bolyard and several cars at the scrap yard but I am told they get switched late in the afternoo...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

i know i have it buried somewhere but i have a video from around 2010-2011 of a GTW unit in original paint going across the massive diagonal intersection at Joslyn which is right on the border of Lake Orion and Auburn Hills. I recall going to see the circus train in Orion yard with my Dad and Grand...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

The last train to run all the way to Orion Yard was the circus train in November 2016. Yarding that train at Orion Yard must have been interesting to see. i know i have it buried somewhere but i have a video from around 2010-2011 of a GTW unit in original paint going across the massive diagonal int...

Re: Imlay City?

What day of the week would be a good day to catch some busy traffic along this line. Also what Train IDs run out here? (If someone could provide a list that would be fantastic!) Just watch the CN Train location updates. Any day of the week is the same. Alright thanks! What about the train IDs? What...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

Also, one more rail customer, the Metal Stamping plant Pontiac. I have not seen any cars here since September  If the Metal Stamping plant does use the railroad, they must use it very rarely. I recently did a railroad crossing tour video of Columbia Avenue (which is basically an in-depth look ...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

I'm pretty familiar with the lake orion branch overall, going from Pontiac to Auburn Hills to Orion Township, I just have a question regarding the active portion of the line in Pontiac. Does anyone know how often they run the local trains up there, what day of the week and time they typically run a ...

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

Kinda crazy but I work off Harmon near the Joslyn intersection and about 4:30 yesterday I heard the very distinct horn of a train in the distance. Don’t believe there’s any other activity in the area, any thought where that may have come from? Any possible work happening on that line! Yeah I heard ...
