You can very clearly see most of the line's remnants if you follow its former routing. A shame they didn't pave it into a rail trail as a lot of the RoW still remains.
I wish there were more rail trails in general in Michigan.

Re: Carleton

I doubt they run to Flat Rock every Saturday, it's probably on an as-needed basis.

So that probably means I could start seeing KCS colors around my house in the next 5 years if this goes through. That's awesome, it's one of my top 5 all time favorite liveries.

Re: Where Is It?

How often do they get switched these days? I want to get photographic evidence that something has traveled over that crossing.

Re: Where Is It?

In addition the spur line to the Materials Processing was off the connection with the ex DT&I main line, it crosses West Jefferson Avenue about a mile north of Sibley Road in Riverview. I don't believe that connection was ever severed. As far as I know it's still active, it just hasn't been used in...

Re: Where Is It?

W. Jefferson ave. in Riverview. Spur leading into Materials Processing inc. they really haven't used rail much in the almost 30 years I've lived in the area, I've literally only seen something crossing there one time in my lifetime. They had a second crossing slightly north of there that was remove...

Re: Where Is It?

King road just west of W. Jefferson. Line been dead for as long as I can remember.

Funny thing is about a decade ago they removed the signals but refuse to remove the rails from the road. It's brutal to drive over.

He said in the comments he couldn't remember specifics but did remember something about a derailment somewhere along the GTW

On another note I love that Chessie paint.

That was my third guess. Second guess was an area just outside of downtown near Atwater Brewery.

Re: Where Is It?

I forget the name of that industry but it's a crossing of Huron River drive in Romulus. Industrial Spur not far from the mains that run parallel to I-94.

Anyone that was reading my posts in the chat should have gotten that ;)

Re: CN's Mt Clemens Sub Frames

They could be frames for the LD Silverados (Ft. Wayne and Mexico) or the full size GM SUVs which are built down in Texas. I forgot that Cosma manufactures all the frames for GM in Canada. I have a hard time believing GM would want to pay to ship that great of a distance by rail despite the high mar...

Re: LSRC Buick City Update

From the handful of videos I've watched there seems to be 15ish vehicle racks on each southbound train. Supposedly these are vehicles previously loaded in New Boston (because CN doesn't want the business because it's a short haul from Flint to Toledo where they would interchange with CSX). Has anyo...
