Re: Delray,

CN is (or was) getting two coke trains. 1. A shuttle to Rouge Steel (hard to believe CN would take something this short a distance) 2. Another one that went to a mill in IN or East Chicago. Do Coke trains still come off Zug Island onto the Boat Yard Line? In the past these have been handled by both...

Trenton 3? Does that go through Delray?
I don’t see why it wouldn’t but I don’t know enough about CSA operations to confirm that. I’m just making an educated guess based on where it originates.

Re: CSX Signal Question

Let me ask this because I see it a lot in New Boston. What does G/R/R mean? About half the time when I drive by one track will be G/R/R and the other will be R/R/R.

They have unloaded the pipe in Cohoctah and most recently Owosso. It may be for the I275 project.

3 carloads of pipe I have not seen before
275 doesn't go that far and the project is in the final stages anyway

Yes, Trenton no longer receives coal, the last train to show up there was earlier this year. I think Late April or early May.

A friend who hauled those containers for a few months told me that they go to the Republic facility in Carleton.
Thank you. Does he have any idea where they come from? My guess is Massachusetts.

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols

The geeps from BNSF are being used to repay back horsepower hours. CN arranged to use the four-axle power. CN purchased some geeps. They are numbered in the 4900 series. A few of the 4600 series GP9Rs are still in service but are rumored to be retired soon. They seem to be used mostly in Wisconsin ...

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols

Chip, the one you saw going from Woodhaven toward Dearborn on the Dearborn Line is a shuttle train between the coke plant (Ecorse or Zug Island) and the steel mill in Dearborn. It's surprising CN would handle such a short run. It’s also surprising they would use a single 6-axle loco on that line wh...

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols

Is CN still operating a coke train between Flat Rock (Ecorse or Zug Island) and one of the steel mills east of Chicago? I’ve seen it a handful of times parked in Flat Rock over the last 6 months or so. Caught it once leaving Woodhaven towards Dearborn on the Dearborn line. Chip, the one you saw goi...

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols

Is CN still operating a coke train between Flat Rock (Ecorse or Zug Island) and one of the steel mills east of Chicago? The only daily trains on the Holly are Q116, E251, L508, L507, and whatever the Pontiac job’s symbol is these days. Yeah, it's as SD80MAC specified. Occasionally, you get an S756 ...

How long is it expected to be blocked? Will there be reroutes?
I would think a couple of extra trains might head down the Lincoln for the next couple of days while the wreckage is cleared and the tracks are repaired.

An internal Ford memo indicated sales for the F-150 have “tanked,” according to The Journal.
That didn’t come from an internal Ford memo, it came from a letter from the Union to the membership. I have the full letter if anyone cares.

The most eastern side where the rail spur is, or was, and which was disconnected from the main line several years ago, has been leased out to non-other than Thai Summit themselves. When I first saw this, the light bulb went on to what an opportunity to use rail service for auto parts loading again,...

Exactly. It’s time to be respectful and understand that the people who know are unable to talk about the situation, whatever it is. Let it be. I know of a few things that happened, but I don’t think I should speak of them. What I will say is there isn’t much of a way to get cars up to the HNW as th...

CHS #3 is still up for sale (as well as ADBF 1760 and ADBF 1758) Unknown status on the two cars stuck out in the woods at the end of the line. Honestly, looking at the whole picture this was...
