Aye JT. Yeah, i remember back with my subaru, needed all 4 tires to have very similar tread wear. If one was less worn like your one new one was, it would spin at a slower speed than your other three, and cause issues with your differentials and driveline. FWD just wants the front pair being similar. I had to replace one tire once, so 1 tire was off from the other three. Move it to the back wheel, making sure the front two were matched, and it’s all good
Well, I probably could have got another 10-15K out of my first set (CC1), but I had an unrepairable tire back in the fall, so they put a new CC2 on it (road hazard warranty) and it didn’t really match the other 3.
speaking of tires, just got some new ones installed this morning. Old ones were from 2015, so it’s been a hot minute. Finally, the "wobble wobble wobble" noise I was hearing is gone too! Got some Michelin cross climate2 tires, seem to have very good wet/snow traction. Drove some side roads that were iced over and certainly much better than my mostly balding tires.
