Ipad cell service. Fiber seems up but modem needs juice. Maybe neighbor let me be his guest :)

Seems to be power outages in the Farmington and Southfield areas
@ AARR « Thu 11:33:05 am »
At least you have power to the essentials like your computer 🙂
@ DaveO « Thu 10:49:28 am »
I’m bored. I need power and I need it now. LOL Not surprisingly cell service is limping under the traffic it’s getting.
@ DaveO « Thu 10:46:37 am »
And DTE is out looking at the drop wire. Wonder if they will just cut it at the pole and fix later.

See that a plane got flipped over at Troy airport. Small one with twin rudders.
@ DaveO « Thu 10:17:15 am »
Small one which hasn’t been used in years. Should restored today. If the substation was up we would be up. Only issue is neighbor drop came down and might short out.
@ AARR « Thu 9:54:35 am »
Do you have a generator?
@ DaveO « Thu 9:46:29 am »
Mother Nature found us last night. Appears the entire substation area is without power :( NWS radar showed a nice clockwise rotation as storm approached. Doesn’t need to be a tornado to be bad news.

My roof was nearing end of life as it was. So I pay the deductible and get a new roof with 50 year shingles. I think it worked out well for me.
@ Jetlink « Mon 8:08:45 pm »
but a lot of contractors (especially the national chains) will waive the deductible. As you pay the deductible directly to the contractor in most cases.
@ Jetlink « Mon 8:08:07 pm »
I’m paying deductible
@ ~Z~ « Mon 7:24:16 pm »
what does that work out to of what you are having to pay to get the new roof? Some of the neighbors have a different insurance than I have, stating they are paying $0 for their roof. Some have to pay their deductible only.
@ Jetlink « Mon 7:17:44 pm »
Massive hail stones April 4 2023. They paid the the prorated value immediately. 2 years to replace and they then pay the balance of the total replacement.
@ Jetlink « Mon 7:16:40 pm »
In my case the damage was so severe and obvious.
@ Jetlink « Mon 7:16:22 pm »
They will send an adjuster out to inspect the roof. Another option is to contract one of the big name contractors canvassing your area. .They are really good at getting the insurance companies to cover even if an adjuster initially denies.
@ ~Z~ « Mon 7:03:41 pm »
so many of our neighbors are getting free rooves as well, hail damage. I need to contact mine and see what their policy is on the roof replacements. and yes JT, I use rooves, not roofs :)
