Did you read where they are going to bring back the Tasmanian Tiger from extinction using its saved DNA or something like that. I’m looking froward to it.

Yes, kiddo seems to do well at the 5k so far. Good you are getting a new PC. Our maintenance coverage is 4 years on ours and can request a new PC anytime after that 4 year period.

@ ~Z~ « Mon 10:28:10 pm »
ah, thought you might make the extra distance to go down to Goshen to maybe see NS traffic, but man, 87 miles, nice.

Most interesting part of the day was the fact that there was no state line signage what so ever at the Michigan-Indiana state line on the road we crossed at.

Did indeed ride over the covered bridge and pass through Centreville. Cruised through Shipshewana and onto the pumpkine vine trail. Rode to Middlebury ate lunch at the DQ right by the trail and returned mostly the way we came except for a few short miles.

87.12 mile bikey complete.

Where I grew up on Grosse Ile in my back yard was some ties, with a few spikes in them that I’m certain dated back to when Michigan Central ran across the island. I still kicking myself for not snagging a few before I moved out.
@ ~Z~ « Mon 8:10:25 pm »
all welded rail here. Grand elk has been going by the home at way slow speeds as of late. Easily took 10 mins to go from 76th to 92nd st.
@ AARR « Mon 7:42:02 pm »
No unfortunately I do not.
@ GR H & C « Mon 6:34:27 pm »
The industrial lead in Zeeland has some rail dated 1922. Z does the Grand Elk have jointed rail? AARR do you have any momentos from the Romeo sub like tie plates or spikes or anything like that?
@ ~Z~ « Mon 3:17:41 pm »
most of the rail in my back yard shows a manufacture date between 1939 and 1942. of course it’s possible it had been used elsewhere and then was installed here, but guessing it’s been out there for 80ish years. Kids says "oh, that’s why its so rusty" :)
@ AARR « Mon 3:03:31 pm »
I like finding stuff like that
@ AARR « Mon 3:03:08 pm »
That’s cool
@ GR H & C « Mon 1:38:50 pm »
I have a piece of GR H C rail that was under Main Street in Zeeland Michigan for about 70 years before they unearthed it
@ GR H & C « Mon 1:22:18 pm »
I’m thinking the chunk rail that I found has been underground since at least the 50s Maybe as far back as the 30s
@ AARR « Mon 1:13:03 pm »
In Washington they are repaving West Rd. and dug up rails under the old pavement that were left there 20 years ago when they removed the Romeo Sub tracks
@ AARR « Mon 1:10:45 pm »
I love fossil hunting
@ GR H & C « Mon 11:59:58 am »
It’s actually from an industrial spur that ran into the gravel pits in Grandville
