very slow ride to Sunfield about 9 miles so I could talk on the phone. Then I resumed normal jetlink speed for the rest of the ride. And took the long way home from Sunfield.

My roof was nearing end of life as it was. So I pay the deductible and get a new roof with 50 year shingles. I think it worked out well for me.
@ Jetlink « Mon 8:08:45 pm »
but a lot of contractors (especially the national chains) will waive the deductible. As you pay the deductible directly to the contractor in most cases.
@ Jetlink « Mon 8:08:07 pm »
I’m paying deductible
@ ~Z~ « Mon 7:24:16 pm »
what does that work out to of what you are having to pay to get the new roof? Some of the neighbors have a different insurance than I have, stating they are paying $0 for their roof. Some have to pay their deductible only.
@ Jetlink « Mon 7:17:44 pm »
Massive hail stones April 4 2023. They paid the the prorated value immediately. 2 years to replace and they then pay the balance of the total replacement.
@ Jetlink « Mon 7:16:40 pm »
In my case the damage was so severe and obvious.
@ Jetlink « Mon 7:16:22 pm »
They will send an adjuster out to inspect the roof. Another option is to contract one of the big name contractors canvassing your area. .They are really good at getting the insurance companies to cover even if an adjuster initially denies.
@ ~Z~ « Mon 7:03:41 pm »
so many of our neighbors are getting free rooves as well, hail damage. I need to contact mine and see what their policy is on the roof replacements. and yes JT, I use rooves, not roofs :)
@ Jetlink « Mon 6:42:46 pm »
Actually state farm is paying for the roof and I hired a contractor. He is a friend of mine and he lets me help. Repays with work in kind. It works well for me. I learn something. Don’t screw up my own house, and get something for my sweat equity.
@ Jetlink « Mon 6:41:05 pm »
Right

Happy father's day all. Just dropped kiddos off at overnight camp, quiet house for the week. I always wanted to do a camp like that as a kid, never got to, so signed them up for it.
