Oscoda is Kalitta’s heavy maintenance base. It’s also a big aircraft boneyard too. Definitely worth a look if you’re in the area

Don’t need a Big Yukon XL anymore. No camper to tow. Kids leaving home.

Drove to Coldwater to bring home a new to me Buick today to replace the Yukon which the insurance company is totaling after the deer hit on October 22 when Z and I rode many miles on the Bikeys along the Fred Meijer Heartland/Flat River Valley trail.

Actually was this afternoon late. Last hour of daylight. Arrived back at the driveway about 5 minutes after the sunset. Which was beautiful to watch while pedaling westbound on Mount Hope Hwy.

It was tough to get stuff done at home or when I was working remote. Only thing that really motivated me was a deadline. Spent lots of time working late because when everyone else was in bed was when I could get stuff done. That and I spent hours and hours a day on the phone. Tough to get computer tasks done when many work hours spent on the phone as well. Of course many times the office days wasted an equal amount of time.

When working from home they will send emails instead that I can respond too at a good cutoff point

I was more productive working from home because when in the office I am interrupted frequently by associates asking questions

I worked from home for three years. I guarantee you I would have been more productive had I worked in an office environment every day.

I didn’t mention my bicycle ride yesterday shortly after it happened to return two books to the library - it means it didn’t actually happen. The 20, gusting to 40mph NW winds must have been a figment of my imagination.

I think the kid at home thing is legal. I’ve seen that numerous times. Or stipulations like you need to notify them if your kid is home etc... The workplace being accessible for your boss to stop in is insane though. that’s got to be illegal.
SD80MAC wrote: My wife’s now former employer had everyone at 2 days in office, 3 days at home for the last few years. Suddenly the boss got a bug up his butt and wanted everyone in person 3 days a week, and kept pushing for 4. Right before my wife left, they were attempting to add a ton of stipulations to working from home that I’m not so sure weren’t borderline illegal: no children under the age of 12 can be home with you while you’re working. If you do have children under 12, there must be another adult present to watch them. Your "work from home" spot must be accessible so your managers can "drop by" any time they want to check on you

back when I started at TLC, we had 3 offices around Zeeland, consolidated them all to one large building, 130 or so of us total. Acquired and reduced at least half the headcount. Then remote work started. Stopped lease there and started lease on new small office. Most days they see 2-5 people in the office.
@ ~Z~ « Mon 2:58:16 pm »
your company servicing there or trying to? I haven’t been to that large office in probably 7-8 years. 10 people there, lolz. Used to have 500 or so most days. The large office in Atlanta sees very few as well. HQ that held 500 as well was sold in Miami and now leasing a smaller floor in downtown miami instead.
@ AARR « Mon 2:38:30 pm »
Just walked Ryder in Novi. Maybe 10 people there. It’s crazy how empty the building is.
