My machine has a heated humidifier. Great for the winter dryness. Whenever I got a respiratory ailment, just cranked the temperature to high. No need to use the old Vicks room humidifier.

Depends. 2 weeks ago at Brighton State Park I turned back after a 1/4 mile. Now that was hilly and ice covered. I use Yaktrax which works very well on the ice. I have done the 6 mile trail out there. Beyond 2 miles I need to be feeling good.
