I use a magnifying lens often

If I started over it would be O scale but I have to much invested in HO to do that

I saved an article of an HO scale layout on a 6x10 featuring an auto assembly plant and intermodal yard. It reminds me of GTW Ferndale to Pontiac. It has 30” curves. I can see myself building it someday.
@ Jetlink « Wed 12:34:54 pm »
I used to know.
@ Jetlink « Wed 12:34:39 pm »

@ Jetlink « Wed 12:34:22 pm »
yup. That sure would.

Five cars = five feet. They fill up the train yard fast.
@ AARR « Wed 12:27:31 pm »
He included vehicle racks. In HO scale they are 12” each.

OK. Do See GarryK logged on and posted a few more times. Looks like Last active back in January this year. Hope he is doing well.

He complained that he couldn’t read the website very well after Z updated the software. The change in contrast made it really hard for him to see. Not sure if he has logged in after that.

Garry came to our Durand meetup. In spring of 2019 I think it was.

righto, lightweight for backpacking is even far more important than bike packing. My brother hiked GA to PA along the Appalachian trail for about 5 months. He and a buddy did hiked together for the first month, then his friend bailed. My bro managed to swap out his 4 man tent for a small 1 person tent to save on weight.

Trying to keep a backpack to 40 pounds, including water, involved things with pricy price tags. Lighter is never cheaper.

@ AARR « Wed 7:56:52 am »
You are correct Z. It depends on how much you want to “rough it”
@ ~Z~ « Wed 7:44:37 am »
of course you don’t need to buy that expensive of equipment, but good equipment can get costly. Much like our photography gear :)
@ ~Z~ « Wed 7:44:11 am »
was watching Van Duzer on youtube yesterday talking about how easy it is to get into bikepacking. He shows his gear list for a short overnight, trying to show how anyone can do it. Proceeds to show a $400 tent, $400 sleeping bag, and $200 sleeping pad...ouch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W08BQWhAyik&t=3m39s

thx. carried a tube and bought a decent floor pump to take with yesterday.

@ ~Z~ « Tue 10:52:19 pm »
yes, part of the bike packing investment. Rear rack is really solid. Picked up those two straps and they do the job well. Definitely noticed a little bit of a harder time climbing hills, but on flat ground, didn’t notice the extra weight.
@ ~Z~ « Tue 10:50:39 pm »
