Pere Marquette FP45-2 #3600PM's two FP45-2's, #3600 and 3601, are former Santa Fe FP45's rebuilt with a HEP generator where the steam generator once was. The FP45-2's are used on various passenger specials and behind PM's steam locomotives for HEP. They also power the Overnighter trailer train (along with F40C #3035) if GP60's or 59's aren't available. ITCS equipped.SD80MACOct 09, 2008
FLRY_GP9_2.png
Flat River Railway GP9 #2Flat River Railway was spun off by PM in 1991 to run it's ex C&O Greenville-Lowell branch. Power came in the form of an ex CNW RS2 and a former Chessie System GP9. #2 is the FLRY's standard road unit, running the Greenville-Lowell turn while RS2 #1 works around Greenville. Unless it's in need of repairs, it doesn't usually leave the FLRY. If traffic warrents, PM loans FLRY a GP15-1 or similar engine to assist the #2.SD80MACOct 08, 2008

Pere Marquette MP15DC #1503The PM owns just for MP15DC's, bought from Helm Financial in the mid 1990's. Currently, 2 units are stationed at Muskegon yard while the other pair is assigned to Durand yard. Aside from an SW1 and an SW9, the MP15's are the PM's only end cab switchers. No ITCS.SD80MACOct 08, 2008
PM_1509_GP15-1_-_Copy.png
Pere Marquette GP15-1 #1509PM bought 14 GP15-1's from Norfolk Southern in early 2007 when that road was ridding itself of it's former Conrail GP15's. Numbered just above the 1500-1503 MP15's in the 1504-1517 series, the GP15-1 is PM's most numerous 4 axle locomotive. GP15's can commonly be found working PM's Ionia-Grand Ledge line and various Grand Rapids and Durand based locals. The GP15's unique tunnel motor style radiators meant they could not wear the standard PM stripes on the rear of the hood, so they were painted in standard PM paint with "Route Of The Overnighter" written along the top to advertise PM's overight GR-CHI trailer train. Not ITCS equipped.SD80MACOct 08, 2008

Pere Marquette GP38-2 #2000The PM has 12 GP38-2's, all ex Conrail. The GP38-2 is PM's standard local engine (along with the GP15-1), powering local freights and yard jobs across the system. #2000 is shown here with her old number and an older variation of PM paint. The units are not equipped with ITCS, and therefore cannot lead freights on the Michigan Corridor.SD80MACOct 08, 2008

Pere Marquette SD50-2 #3000The PM owns 12 SD50-2's. These units were bought at the time on the Conrail split from NS as straight ex CR SD50's. Over time the PM Owosso shops derated them to 3,000 HP and gave them an electrical upgrade, redisignating them SD50-2's. These units can be found on most freight trains all over the PM system, track conditions warrenting. Regulars on the Chicago bound freights, all of the SD50-2's are equipped with ITCS for operation on the MI Corridor.SD80MACOct 08, 2008

Pere Marquette GP60 #3902The PM's GP60's are the usual power (along with the GP59's) on the Amtrak/PM Michigan Corridor locals. They also power the "Overnighter" nightly trailer train from Grand Rapids to Chicago, the OVRN. PM currently owns 4 GP60's, all bought from NS. Since these units spend most of their time on the Amtrak MI Line, all are euipped with ITCS.SD80MACOct 08, 2008
