Fostoria Track Chart circa 1912Quite a few changes over the years, kind of hard to imagine a 5 railroad town where none of the crossings were interlocked - but that's how it was.MSchwiebert

Track chart of Defiance OH circa 1912Interesting how things were configured then, single track across the Auglaize River and the tower back at the end of double track instead of FC where one would think.MSchwiebert

Awaiting the torchSurely the largest diesel locomotive to traverse these tracks in Adrian, this former Canadian National Alco awaits a date with the local scrapper on this snowy January 1996 day. How a scrapper in Adrain ended up with this loco is anyone's guess.MSchwiebert

RelicsA trip to Adrian in January 1996 found the two former Ann Arbor RS2's (originally GB&W) slumbering away the winter in a state of dis-repair - and an uncertain future. Fortunately, one of the units survives awaiting restoration in Wisconsin, while the other was canabalized to assist in the restoration of a former Soo Line RS1MSchwiebert

Street RunningThe former Conrail Marion Branch is "blessed" with several blocks of street running in Warsaw Indiana. On a February 1995 morning I captured a light engine move heading north to Goshen & Elkhart in the street. The Marion Branch was unique on other accounts among them it was a former NYC (Big 4) line signalled with PRR signals by the PC in the 1970's. It also served as Conrails access to Ft. Wayne via a connection with the PRR here in Warsaw - allowing the former PRR main to downgraded to secondary statusMSchwiebert

1950's styleTwo Icons from the 1950's meet at the Toledo station as a one of the Conrail "executive E's" backs its train into the station. In stark contrast to the angularity of today's railroading, the 1950's era E unit and the platform roofs illustrate rather graceful curves.MSchwiebert

"Smoke em if you got em!"Under a prodigious cloud of smoke, N&W 611 Departs Continental Ohio on the evening of July 18th 1993. During the era of NS steam excursions, the 611 was a frequent visitor to the former NKP between Bellevue & Fort Wayne.MSchwiebert
