The railroad was created in 2005 when Genesee & Wyoming bought the Marinette, Tomahawk & Western Railway. TR handles over eight thousand carloads annually, consisting of coal, chemicals, scrap paper, woodpulp and pulpwood inbound, as well as outbound pulpboard.

Tomahawk Railway Overview

The Tomahawk Railway, owned and operated by Genesee & Wyoming, operates 6 miles of trackage in northern Wisconsin around Tomahawk and Wisconsin Dam. In order to access its line to PCA in Wisconsin Dam, TR operates over 1 mile of FOXY (formerly CN) owned trackage.
