Minnesota Prairie Line Overview

The Minnesota Prairie Line is a subsidiary of the Twin Cities and Western Railroad, it was started in 2002. It operates 94 miles of former M&StL line from Norwood Young America, MN to Hanley Falls, MN. The line is owned by the Minnesota Valley Regional Railroad Authority.

The MPLI interchanges with the TCWR at Norwood Young America, MN and BNSF at Hanley Falls, MN

At startup it had 2 former TCWR locomotives repainted with MPLI logos, they are now RRVW locomotives. Current power being used is a mix of TCWR and RRVW.
