Anyone remember what's significant about CSX 8503 :?: Hint: YN-3 paintscheme.

i know that i certainly wouldn't have known off hand...i guessed..then looked up the answer.. and was correct! I believe the answer you are looking for: It was the first unit painted into YN-3 :)

This is kind of a fun category, trivia. I used to be online, and would just randomly throw csx #'s at patrick...almost always knowing the exact engine type.

Scheme 7 Notes

CSXT #8503 was at Rougemere Yard in Dearborn earlier in October and photographed there on the 2nd. Recently, a number of Scheme 7 units have been moving through, including SD50 #8669, GP40-2 #6110, and C40-8 #7497. Keep your eyes out for them!

Correct :D Where did you find that it was the first one painted :?: I remember I seen the paint scheme the first time on a Trains.com article.
