Thanks RobertTrains for the confirmation on Train 508.

Looks like GTW 8952 needs a good washing - all heritage units in my opinion should be washed - be proud of your heritage - ware those GTW colors clean! (Yeah right, the RR could care less about clean locomotives). I remember when railcars were clean and devoid of graffiti, but I guess we won't go there. Back in the day locomotives were a lot cleaner too.
It’s been washed. Wash your eyes!

OK folkz! This post on "Heritage Units" seems "Bogus!!!!!" Did a train go through Mount Clemens today with IC "Blue Devil" C40-8W #2459?  :!: :?: :?: This cannot be right as this engine was sent to Welland, ON for "Scrap!!!!" This post (only the 6th by kenneth20ga) says "Really nice surprise to ease up the work day!" It was posted in Mt. Clemens @ 1:55 PM December 18, 2023! Nowhere else was it posted! I also did not hear a train around this time, but over an hour later! Why would this engine come back to MI after ending up at "SLM Recycling®" in Canada? Why would "Heritage Units" also keep IC 2459 on their site and get rid of IC 2466 which is in serviceable storage in Homewood? Bogus Post it has to be!!!! 🤯 🤯 😳 😳 😱 😱 🤭 🤭 🤪 🤪 🤥 🤥 😵💫 😵💫 🥴 🥴

IC 2459 "Heritage Units" link: https://heritageunits.com/locomotive/detail/IC2459

Update: our fellow Flying Eagle TV (Facebook®) mentioned it was "GECX 2029 (blueberry)" which was probably 383!

Hello to all my railfan friends!

Southbound...um...something by Linden at 4:37pm with GTW 8952 Heritage Unit leading another CN unit, 109 cars.

This train has everything! A few single stacks on the head end, several centerbeam loads of lumber, quite a few loaded coiled steel cars, some sand hoppers, a mix of some other manifest, and lots of autoracks.

If I had to guess, it was 508 going South, and if so, was not aware that he carries that much coiled steel and autoracks. Then again with darkness being as early as it is, I rarely see 508.

Anyway, enjoy the GTW Heritage Unit if you have the chance.
OK David Lang, it looks like this is train L508!!!! CN "GTW Heritage Unit" SD70M-2 #8952! Hopefully this power will stay on this train for a few days/weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I may be able to get this soon! Alright, what time does L508 usually pass south through Royal Oak? :?: Looks like in the dark though! Well, while waiting for "Dead Cowls" to surface─this is something we can capture! I see it is now posted on "Heritage Units" where it was on the way to Flat Rock last night (12-17) on train 508!!!! :!:

The GTW heritage unit will possibly be on L507/L508 the new few days at least. (Cannot 100% confirm that) but L508 tends to pass through Royal Oak any time between 8-10 pm, depending how late they’re running. However you can see it on L507 typically around 5-7 pm. (Or today where it ran through around 4:30 pm which is surprisingly early for L507)

SB 515 with 5423 went past MP 22.5 at 8 am. Eleven cars today, two gondolas, five or so covered hoppers and the rest tank cars. No boxcars today.

Just passed MP 22.5 at 1:55 pm. Glad I read the above as I then looked outside and there was the caboose. No cupola on it. CN. There was an 8900 leading a 5600 and a crew in the trailing 5600. Short train. Racks then stacks. First caboose out back in years.

Peculiar looking thing. I'm wondering if it is one of the tricked out PTC testing cars that have been roaming around.

The caboose that was on 116 is on the tail of 507, just passed Royal Oak with 8005 and 8943 for power.

You are Welcome David Lang! I don't know if I will capture this train! I would prefer daylight hours of course! Yes, I too remember the Graffitiless train cars! :D Here’s a picture that my late Dad (RCJ I) of GTW boxcars in Chesterfield, MI sans Graffiti in 1990 (Canon 35mm S.L.R.): Image
