Had a fluke chance at getting Grand Elk SB in Portage, MI at 15:57. Couldn't make out number on WAMX leader but HLCX 3834 was second out

LSRC took an empty grain train to Paines a little while ago. Not sure when the MMRR is going to pick it up.

Hmm.. no grand elk Tuesday in Byron Center, none so far today. Did see a large box truck inspecting the rails (similar to Sperry) and a grand elk pickup truck right behind it, heading north around 1pm.

They had the Otsego box cars set out when I came through a little after 6:00.

Finally went by.. 2 locos and 35 cars at 8:30pm. They slowed down a bunch as they were going by, probably some slow order that was put in place today. All tank cars and covered hoppers.

Back south at 10:55pm, looked like WAMX 4225 and a 2nd loco, about 15 cars.

Given what you posted recently about slow movements and short trains through your back yard, My sixth sense is causing me to wonder about the Bridge over Buck Creek. :?

Isn't that where they put it on the ground a year or so ago.

No, the derailment was at 28th Street, several miles to the north.

Grand Elk MOW heading south through Byron Center at 11:02am. Harsco 6700 tamper - saw it and one other piece of equipment stored on a short spur up at 76th St last week.

2nd piece of MOW southbound at 11:26am, Knox Kershaw KBR 875 Relam Ballast Regulator.
Took a look down the tracks, and both do appear to be working on the bridge over Buck Creek between 84th and 92nd Ave.

AT 12:21pm, both pieces of equipment back north.
