G94405 through south Lyon @10:16 locomotives 4553 and 121. 91 cars (if I counted correctly). Not sure if any of those engines are rare but I’ve never seen them before.

Edit: I heard 4553 is a sd70mace. Recently rebuilt and pretty rare.

CSX does not classify their SD70MAC rebuilds as anything other than SD70ACs. SD70MACe is a BNSF designation.

GLC arrived at Ann Pere prior to noon to pick up the 67 cars D708 sat off for them yesterday in the Howell pass, and deposit 76 more into the siding for D708s next pick up. In todays set off were 33 ash cars, 21 three bay hoppers, 14 tie car empties and 8 tank cars. GLC 396+398+382 was todays power. Had all three downtown crossings for an hour while making this move. At high noon on a Saturday, you can imagine how many irate drivers there were today. Love to bike down and watch them seethe, and today was no exception. Today is the 50th anniversary of the date I have been watching trains from the same trackside house. Was only 27 then.

I haven't left yet. I haven't heard anything on the scanner since I heard the RN dispatcher tell them to tie their train down. They were stopped at Kirk waiting on the RN, who was waiting on the trainmaster on what to do with the train.

Instead of totally EFFING UP Howell for hours why doesn't GLC just pull south of the interchange at AnnPere and have CSX power go thru the interchange and hook on and GO WEST! We did it more then a few times when I was on the East Local out of Ensle in 1992...but wait...we DID THINGS in 1992 instead of what they do now. We also pulled their cars SOUTH on the AA and they hooked up to the north end a just...LEFT. Was rather simple and easy.
Then again that would take some actual communication and co-ordination so NEVER MIND. No one seems to know what that is anymore.

That would require someone to care enough to coordinate that move, Dok. Oh well!

It’s all CSXs fault right? Not like GLC has locks on their switches or anything

Maybe I can catch it on its return trip and get better photos. These were taken around 3:45 pm this afternoon. It was cut at County Line Rd.
