While it's neat that CN is honoring the component RR's that make up its system, all these are going to be new widecab locos, that to me---are just ugly! So thanks---but no thanks.

That would be wide nose locos - cabs are the same width - just ask Dick Eisfeller at Big E. At any rate, I guess that you will be one less human to dodge while the many grateful folks are out there chasing them all over North America. Thank you for giving us more room.

Darn, the D&TSL is the one I would want to see most. Granted it would look like the NS's NKP loco, but still I wanted to see it.
Curious to me that two key components in the CN system have not been included - D&TSL and NAR (Northern Alberta Railway).Same kind of treatment that NS gave to New Haven with their heritage series. Perhaps we shall have an addendum...

:?: The Ontario Northland isn't owned by CN.

The slug set isn't the correct green.

At least part of the reasoning behind these various heritage fleets is trademark protection.
If a company no longer uses a trademark, then it's possible another company will.
Many of these are on older rolling stock that would be subject to retirement.
Easier to keep track of the trademarks applied to engines.

Perhaps the best case of trademark protection is Pan Am.

Paint colors have codes assigned to them. Would be odd if the contractors didn't paint the color code specified by CN.

CN goes out of their way to do something great like this, and people complain about it. (Un)Believable.

Also, why would CN paint a unit for Ontario Northland, which has never been owned by CN?

Man O War---who is Mr. Eisfeller??? I must be getting old----do not do much train watching anymore. Used to go to Fostoria at least 4-5 times a year, have not been for at least 3 years now. Widenose----widecab, you get what I am talking about. To me now---shortlines are the way to go. All the big roads all look the same.

100% agree.

I saw one guy on facebook in his mom's basement yelling about the handrails being a different color and the number plates not being the correct color. SMH.

My bad. I had the impression that they had acquired it in the late 2000's. I have no idea where I'd gotten that idea...

CN 8952, an SD70M-2, has just literally been given GT Blue paint and is scheduled to be moved out on A422.
And IC & BCOL RWB Gevos were leaked

Looks like another heritage unit

Anyone what type of engine this is? It has 3 fans like a GP40-2 but the air filter box looks like a 38-2 however that box has filters in it like a 40-2 :?

It's a GP40 that's been rebuilt.
