How does CN route their coal trains for these plants?

I thought NS has the contract to deliver coal to DTE, not CN. Seems like NS built a yard in OH to stage the coal loads.

When CN/CSX had the contracts Lang Yard was used to stage the coal loads.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Coal trains for CN Monroe / Rouge are routing from Chicago East on the NS to Toledo. They are NS Trains 878 thru 883 on the line. I see them all the time on the Elkhart Railfan Webcam.

They used to come over CN from Chicago (South Bend Sub, Flint Sub, and Holly Sub), trains 760, 761, 762 and 763, but it has been quite a few years now since these ran.

NS has contract for steam coal for Monroe, Trenton and R2P2. Meturigical coal for R2P2 comes via CN to the plant off the CSXT. R2P2 is only burning coke oven gas to make about 10 me. Burning no steam coal.

Ok, so it's NS that has the contract, not CN. The wiki said that the Monroe plant was jointly served by NS and CN, so I was going off of that as I'm not too familiar with the rails in that area. Thanks guys.

Yes, Moroe PP is jointly served by both NS and CN but for now NS has the current coal contract.
