GLC Acquiring SD35's?

Unread post by MQT1223 »

Saw on the land of Facebook today that GLC is supposedly getting some ex. MRL SD35's? This definitely makes things even more interesting on GLC if it's true. Does anyone else run SD35's these days because I don't recall anyone rostering large quantities of them anymore.

My research only shows 6 SD35's being tied to Montana Rail Link, and the majority of them being ex. N&W with chopped hoods and one originally built for the ACL. Not sure which of the 3 they are supposedly getting or if MRL is doing any work to them before hand. Wouldn't surprise me if any of the dead Geeps in Owosso would donate some of their guts to get these new arrivals going.

GP35's, SD35's, GP38's and SD40's... the 70's called they want their railroad back!

Yes, and supposedly 385, 391 and 394 are for sale with the balance of the GP35 fleet not long for the world, but that could change. However, they are so starved for power currently that I doubt we will see any of the active GP35s go away any time soon.

Supposedly they are already in BC yard. I forget which train goes from BC and works Durand but maybe it’s A450?

Heard that, but at the same time, heard they just got picked up from MRL on Thursday, so it is highly unlikely they are in BC yet, unless BC means British Columbia.

Nice. Thanks! Idk who started BC rumors but it seemed awful quick to me for them to already be in MI.

The SD35s are supposed to take the BNSF to Chicago, then CN to Durand for interchange, for what it’s worth.

Post I saw this morning, somewhere, says they are in BRC Clearing, awaiting transfer to CN. I would guess they end up in BC within the next couple days, and Durand by early next week.
