It was reported late last year, that LSRC bought six SD50's.
From the latest locomotive roster, I see 6351, 6352, 6354, and 6355 are renovated and in service.
What is the status of 6353 & 6356 ??
LSRC SD50's
Re: LSRC SD50's
The final two SD50s for LSRC are still at Metro East Industries. Those two needed more work done.

Thanks for the update.

Same RR, but different question. My son saw on Facebook that LSRC was getting a GP40, 2 slugs and a switcher from NS---anybody seen or heard anything about this?

It has been my experience, that you have to take Facebook postings with a "grain of salt".

Yes, LSRC recently bought 1 GP40-2, 2 road slugs and 1 MP15 from NS. They have arrived on the property but I don’t believe any are in service yet. One of the slugs will be paired with the NS GP40-2 and the other will be paired with LSRC 4325, from what I’m told.joeyuboats wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:01 pmSame RR, but different question. Re: LSRC SD50's
Well that explains quite a bit. I'd wondered what LSRC would have to send to another operation, not connected to the current operation (like when North Judson took their bid to replace Felix Powell's Chesapeake and Indiana a couple years ago). The current roster didn't seem to have room to spare for any sort of additional acquisition that would require enough power to run a couple switch jobs. Those SD50s are road power, not the kind of thing you move cars around in the yard with. Will they have a relative surplus of road power, for their current operation, once the other 2 SD50's are delivered?

Re: LSRC SD50's
If you like making profits, you really don't want to acquire things that you might have a future use for.
