Where Is It?
Re: Where Is It?
Those look like streetcar tracks with the bricks between the rails.

Re: Where Is It?
Mt. Elliott and Mack Avenue, former DSR Grand Belt Line.
Streetcar service was discontinued on June 24, 1948. The line was converted over to motor bus operation becoming the DSR's sixth streetcar line to be abandoned after World War II. The bus route was eliminated in September 2009.

You don't see pay phones much anymore!
Re: Where Is It?
There should be ample clues in the picture to make this relatively easy to locate.

Larry's Truck % Electric in Ohio
Re: Where Is It?
Lordstown Ohio just down the road from Larry's Truck Electric. I'm assuming it's part of their collection.

Agree with MQT. Is that where J_T took the famous picture of an engine floating on grass?

Re: Where Is It?
You are correct. That is indeed where JT took his floating on grass pic.
Here's another... hints: taken in 2009, and that fresh dirt around these traction motors should be a clue

Re: Where Is It?
Yes, indeed, its Lake Cora on the south side of the West Michigan RR ROW in Paw Paw Township. Van Buren County, Actually between Paw Paw and Lawrence, not between Paw Paw and Lawton. Passenger train service on the former Pere Marquette RR was discontinued between Lawton and Hartford many years ago.AARR wrote:Agree with MQT. Unsure of the make, but not Saginaw area. The town this photo was taken in no longer has rail service, removed just before this pic was taken.AARR wrote:Is that an ALCO truck? Saginaw perhaps?

Re: Where Is It?
Ding, there ya go pretty sure I shot this on N Court St. We rode our bikes by there after our Taco Bell fuel stop a few years ago. Shot the pic in 2009 on my way back from shooting 1225 near Ithaca, then followed the recently torn up line from Greenville back to Lowell.AARR wrote:Greenville?
