Last night a few hours after that extra or rerouted Container Train went SB past MP 22.5 its power drifted NB lite back to Pontiac.

Just now this power just headed light SB past MP 22.5 at 4 pm. So I presume this was either Train 514 SB today or that there will be an extra NB container train out of Moterm tonight. The last time something like this happened there was no 514 that day, just a rerouted 149, which makes sense I guess.

Hey Manistique.

I will keep an eye out for a possible NB intermodal. Can't post much during the week, but I'm home now for the weekend.

A NB doublestack is passing MP 22.5 at 7:13 pm with a DPU unit in the middle. Looked like the lite power I saw heading south earlier. I would guess it is that occasional Prince Rupert one heading back.

Q198 is the symbol for the intermodal with CN 3198 and CN 8884 is the DPU.

251 didn't work at Pontiac and pulled down to Scott Lake Road for the crew change.

515 came up the other main as 251 was going by MAL. CN 5459 again today.

513 also went to Draco this afternoon with the EJE 657. Got back into the yard around 4:30pm.

Through East Lansing at 21:39.
Could the symbol be 189? I thought that's what I heard.

Two trains this morning SB out of Pontiac.

The first followed Amtrak 351 down the hill at a little after 6 am. I didn't get up to see it (much to my wife's surprise). Then at 7:15 am Train 116 went by with a single CN as power and a shorter train of all doublestacks.

Hey Manistique - 116 eh? I wondered what train was by us around 6am this morning. Didn't look and still too dark. (He must have been running late).

Northbound 401 by Linden at 8:25am.

Didn't catch the power or car count.

Train 514 SB just went past MP 22.5 at 5 pm with 5413 and 5340 again and had a boxcar followed by a large number of empty well cars and a few loads at the end.

Well, looks like
EJE 657 is working trains on the "Holly Subdivision" some more!!!! I will be going to Ferndale this afternoon (Sunday 2-23)! Would there be a chance this loco will be working a train there? Man I want to photograph it!!!! :!:

Busy morning on the Holly south of Pontiac. Amtrak 351 went past MP 22.5 on time. Right behind him on the same Main 1 was a slow moving freight that stopped out back, I presume because he bumped up against a red board from Amtrak at Opdyke Road. He was there about 15 minutes when I hear a train blowing for Opdyke, thinking it was him getting ready to head south. But it was a NB train. My guess is that the SB was 402 and the NB was 401 and they swapped crews at Opdyke Road today.

However, just now, at 7:10 am another SB went by that was also a mixed freight so I am not sure if my guess about 401 and 402 was correct or if this was 402. Anyway, busy morning here at MP 22.5 with not the usual morning visitors.

Short Northbound 401 by Linden at 8:40am with 3 CN locomotives, 38 cars.

Hey Manistique - I think you are probably correct about 401/402. I wonder if the other Southbound you saw was 515 out of Pontiac. When you say he was mixed freight, that would eliminate a 280-type autorack train and would also eliminate a Sand Train, so either 515 or an extra would be my guess.

401 has become somewhat predictable lately as I sometimes get stopped by him on the way to work in the morning. (I have a hour drive, so I leave pretty early). He is Northbound usually between say 5am and 7am during the week...and maybe a little later on the weekends - Northbound yesterday by Linden at 8:25am and today at 8:40am. 402 is definitely earlier in the morning thru Linden, maybe 3 or 4 am usually (when I hear him).
