CN freight train hit a man in Pontiac.
An CN freight train hit a man after he lay his head on the rail near the South Blvd.E crossing at S. Sanford Street in Pontiac at 7:55am this past Sunday morning. Any idea what was the freight train number?

The person died in the hospital a few days after the accident. This was not the first time they attempted to kill themselves according to the newspaper article.

He was probably hit by the pilot and thence shoved out of the way.AARR wrote:How does a person who lay their head on the rails survive even 1 second after impact
It’s a sad story. Apparently he needed help and either didn’t get it or it wasn’t enough

He wasn't hit by the head end. The Detroit News provided an update today to the original story.
The person was waiting at the crossing, then exited his car and attempted what he did. Three people witnessed everything and called for help.
EMS transported to St. Joseph Mercy, which is right around the corner on Woodward. This likely helped him survive for the few extra days he did.

Whatever happened to that old fashioned tradition of just taking too many sleeping pills?
