Q328 east at lake O 3:26pm. Long train. Power as described. Still neat to see an sd40-2 even if it’s not leading.

Q32923 had another single unit this morning, CSX 3110 by Howell at 08:06 with 62 cars. Another long day without power in town today due to heavy monsoon rain electrical storms at 06:00 so no posts until now. CSX 8400 had been on D708 for weeks so can hardly wait for 328 to get here to see it again, plus the other two seen of late too.

D707 is on the scene in Woodbury heading for lake O. I was in town on my bike about 40 minutes ago and they were lined with a slow clear into pass at the east end of the lake O siding. Heard the horns just now as I pedaled up the driveway.

For those not in Durand, Q32925 by Howell 09:11 with CSX 4060+9047 and 88 cars. Should be at last 20 or more to pick up at Lansing. Earlier, Q32825 went east at 05:25 with CSX 3262+792 and another 112 cars like yesterday.

W00823, Herzog ballast load by Howell at 15:18, spreading ballast as they went by from one car two thirds of the way back in their train. Sure don't know how that thing works as I saw now MofW people anywhere near any of the cars. NS 7527 and CN 5713 on the head end. Been working out in the yard all day and was surprised to see this as I had not seen the earlier post on it until now. To late to come to Durand now for what little time left. If I came, would be there early and stay late.

I've heard that some of the herzog ballast trains are satelite controlled for exact placement of the material according to a predetermined plan. If that's the case it would explain not seeing anyone around. When they were through Lansing the other day I could hear them communicating with some sort of foreman coordinating the work but idk where that person was at in relation to the train. I wasn't able to get up there to watch.

I didn't make it to make durand today either, too much going on. Hopefully next time. Hope everyone had a good time over there.
