Anyone going to the Spike 150 Celebration?

Unread post by DBFanatic »

Greetings, MI Railfans,

I purchased tickets to take my dad to Utah via Amtrak on 5/8 for the 150th anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike. We're on the early train to Chicago and the CA Zephyr for the day-and-a-half to SLC arriving Thursday night.

Just curious: Is anyone else active on this board planning on attending the festivities?

If the line from Corrine still went to Promontory Summit and one could ride an excursion on it, then I'd go.

Do you already have a ticket for the May 10th event? It's $20 for a parking pass.

Hi Tim,

Thank you for the reminder! I do, thank you, for all three days. Do you need a ride to the event? I have an empty back seat... :D

OK, I actually went to the "HUGE" weekend events with my Mom (Susan)!!!! We flew out from Metro Airport on Wednesday May 8 returning yesterday May 13!!!!!!!!!!
