Seems like there have been lots of gondola loads of ties moving around on the Grand Rapids sub lately. Can anyone confirm if there is any track work going on?
Tonight a D802 went west through St. Joe. They asked the dispatcher what the exact plan was, and he said he was about to call and find out, but he thought probably they would leave the loads in the siding at New Buffalo, grab some empties, and head back east. Is something going on down there?

they are starting around Michigan City and currently working towards New Buffalo. Will be replacing all crossings between Porter and GR with gates and signals as well as ballast and ties over most of the route.

Good! The grade crossing by my workplace is getting rougher by the day.
Any idea if they plan on completing it all this summer?
