Heard them on Cadillac's north end just before 1600. Assuming they headed out before 0900 since that is the first time I have heard them today.

Lots of inbound propane for the distributor in Cadillac and outbound butane from the plant south of Kalkaska.

AANR, would you happen to know the name of the propane distributor in Cadillac (North Yard) that gets the tank cars?

I was wandering around north yard a few years ago and noted that Blarney Castle Oil Co. was transloading propane on the north end of the yard near Bell Ave.

I see on Google Earth that a new and fairly large propane bulk plant has been built. I have fruitlessly conducted an internet search trying to determine who built it. Does anyone know the operator? Thanks.

Don, I believe the propane transload in Cadillac was ordered by the state to ensure adequate supply of propane in northern Michigan. I know that Tri-Gas in Traverse City sends tankers there for refill a couple times a week this time of year.

Left Cadillac for Clare at 1130 with at least 20 cars, most of which were for McBain. Didn't see or hear anything yesterday.

Edit: Had not returned as of 1705.

Returned to Cadillac at 1700. More steel panels. I've seen trucks and heavy machinery on the north end where these are offloaded, but no one around when I'm passing by. And yet the loads slowly disappear  ...
