Although I don't watch it anymore because it's been shown non-stop since the 70's Smokey and the Bandit remains a funny movie

I don't know why I am drawn to this topic.

Perhaps the same reason I scan the obits in my local newspaper.
Two thirds of obits today were for persons younger than me.

Gives you a unsetteling moment.
There are people that will need me in the future and I won't be here to help.

I turned 77 yesterday.
5 years on college faculties
34 years working on railroads

RR is more fun

I know the feeling. Same age as you. Most of the kids I grew up with are gone, along with many friends and people from the boat club I used to belong to.
