CN Updates: May 2018
116 by East Lansing at 00:06.
Power was a pair of lease units. Former ATSF warbonnets, but heavily patched.
edit - I believe the power was PRLX 204 & 203

Re: CN Updates - April 2018
Grass fire along tracks at MP 22.4 on the Holly this past hour or so. Must have been from the returning NB 950 local train around 3 pm as that was the last train by here. Fire department has two large trucks on it and two smaller ones.
Fire trucks left the scene at 5 pm and Train 451 is now (5:13 pm) passing through NB very slowly, probably because Amtrak 355 should be leaving Pontiac station now and crossing over. Not sure if they held 451 south of there until the fire was out. Power on 451 today is a CSX unit leading two of the warbonnet lease units, 204 and 203, with 203 really throwing out the smoke.
Amtrak crept SB past MP 22.5 and the fire scene a bit behind schedule. Then 515 went NB very slowly. I wonder now if there isn't a fire hazard warning and they are keeping the speeds down. That would make sense for the NB's working hard up the Hill here but not for a SB coasting down it. There is a fire hazard warning for the lower half of the Lower Peninsula until 8 pm tonight.
Amtrak 352 is going by at 8:04 pm (a bit late again) at speed so the speed restriction from earlier is over south of Pontiac on the Holly.
Right behind Amtrak at 8:12 was Train 391 with two CN GE's and plenty of sand hoppers which made up most of its short train. A bit early for it tonight.

Re: CN Updates - April 2018
There's a westbound coming out of Port Huron with a pair of ex-UP GECX units sandwiched between two CN units. It's a mixed freight, possibly 397, and is probably near Emmett by now, if they didn't have to wait for anyone at West Tappan.

CN Updates: May 2018
Thought we better start a May one instead of continuing to use the April post. Train 451 went NB past MP 22.5 at 8 pm on the Holly with cowl 2405 leading a CN unit and a BNSF one.

Train 451 NB past MP 22.5 at 3:00 with three UP units as power. Amtrak 350 NB passed him in my backyard on Main 1. Nice use of the double tracked Holly for a change.
Returning Train 950 (I think) with 6221 NB past MP 22.5 at 4:40 pm.

CN 2914 West is approaching Schoolcraft with an Approach aspect, probably waiting for the EB our of marcellus. 656 axles, twin GEVOs for power.
