Detroit Eastside 2.14.18

Unread post by ConrailDetroit »

The CN 533 waits at Clay St for a signal at Milwaukee Jct to go around the wye, then pull forward on the Mt Clemens Sub to East Yard where they would pickup 2 cars, then continue north to Port Huron. They were running about 12 hours behind schedule on a recrew from the previous night due to congestion at Moterm with the extra intermodal trains due to the upsurge in traffic.

After switching Exel, Conrail NY-6 delivers empty gondolas to Strong Steel, then runs around their boxcars from Exel and heads north on the Beltine. They would pickup their tanks from PVS at Huber Yard then go back to North Yard.

A collision almost occurred between 515 and a truck backing into the Warehouse inside of the wye at Milwaukee Jct as the truck became stuck in the snow while fouling the track, seconds before 515 came around the Sugarhouse Wye. If 515 had cars and would not have been a lite engine, there likely would have been a collision.

After CN Police and a couple of maintainers showed up to help get the truck unstuck after 2 attempts, 515 couples back to their train and heads around the Sugarhouse Wye.
