Re: Elk on the Ground?
Correction to my previous post, both units were rerailed tonight. Tomorrow the track work will begin.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

Well, they should have steered around it, if they were paying attention. Probably on their phones.

Re: Elk on the Ground?
Some additional information from the person who took the daylight photos and was at the washout accident shortly after it occurred.
“It happened around 9:30 PM during heavy rain fall. Railroad bed washed out. Both locomotives were
still running with gallons of diesel flowing like a river. ‘We’ had to carry the conductor from train due to his
injuries. All during intense rain.”
He went on to say, “It was almost spooky seeing something like that out of its normal element.”

Who was the clean-up contractors? Corman, Hulcher or private? Also if conductor was in trailing unit that overturned as pictured then engineer was in 4189? Or did the engineer have no injuries?

Re: Elk on the Ground?
Elk's Bridge in Three Rivers is only a foot out of the water in the park. 9 gates opened at the Wood St. dam, Huddleston is having a wet 2x4 sale as their yards are underwater. Assuming with all the rivers, creeks and streams Elk crosses enroute to Elkhart there will be track patrols out. Crest is Saturday and is predicted to be 2nd highest flood since records were kept. Burlington and Buchanan dam operators are not working as they fear those two could give out.

I think the crane in the second picture says "RJ Corman" on it... but the logo is partially obscured by a plant.Super Chief wrote:Who was the clean-up contractors? Corman, Hulcher or private?
