TrainStuff13 wrote:Anyone have any idea about what time LSRC 304 heads south from Grayling? I'm not 100% sure but I think it runs every weekday. I haven't seen it in almost 2 years, so that may have changed. If the timing works out, I may stop to see them in St Helen on my way up north a week from Friday.
Ok, thanks! If I do see anything, I'll post it here.

Just heard what sounds like the Grand Elk out on the 36th/Eastern Ave branch in Grand Rapids, horn so very close to home. Weird.... 8:02am.
Edit: checked it out, noppers..sound just carrying well today. Sounded like GDLK north at 36th St on GR/Kzoo mainline heading towards HugHart yard.

Michigan shore is just heading south past the Mart dock. Good sized train. Running long hood forward on both engines.

1600 hrs: MQT road train from Baldwin parked on the north side of Sparta with a good sized train, 3389, 3407, and another orange unit. Almost no cars in Baldwin and no locomotives seen elsewhere.

GRE rolling through Ada, unsure of direction.

Edit: definitely sounds westbound.

Grand Elk is around 68th St. Unsure of direction but lots of K3 action on the leader. Also have noticed them running around later and later, change of call time maybe?

GRE arrived in Lowell around 3:30pm. Brought around 20 loads and was switching out 10 or 15 empties (hard to see through the trees without running off the road). Around 2:00pm, the tracks in Lowell were mostly empty. I think it is still around, but not sure.

Another LSRC question here. I had no luck in St Helen, but I may try Alpena tomorrow morning. According to the train symbols wiki on this site, 327 runs from Bay City to Alpena Tuesday-Saturday. I've heard that it usually arrives in Alpena the morning after it leaves BC. So I should be able to see 327 in Alpena tomorrow morning? And if anyone can tell me an approximate time, that would be great.

Nope, the Tue-Sat means it arrives Tue-Sat mornings. You probably won't see a thing move in Alpena until Tuesday morning due to the holiday.
