Lake State updates

Unread post by MDH »

Does anyone know how Lake State has handled the shift in CSX interchange? I.e. with the new six day a week D701 / 702 arriving Flint in the afternoon/leaving in the AM do they make their interchange run down to CSX in the evening or sometime during the night? I'd assume they wouldn't run down there on Saturday evening/night since there's no D702 to bring inbound traffic but would they run Sunday then when there is one?

Thanks,
Michael

Per Elba Steve over at michiganrailroads, it sounds like LSRC Z127 came down to Flint this past Sunday around 6:50pm and went back north afterwards. Other posts from him state they come down during the week late at night and leave north early in the morning. http://members4.boardhost.com/OtherMich ... 97420.html

Thanks guys! I thought about heading up to Flint but with no intel "just hoping" for a daylight run south seemed like a poor risk when it was going to add an extra couple hours of driving (and more hours of waiting) to an already long day.

Michael

So it leaves earlier now? Cool!

I can actually catch it during daylight (seasons notwithstanding).

I'd love to shoot LSRC much, much more, but that hour (one way) drive is too much for a possible sighting. Perhaps when a reasonably concrete schedule is established, I'll be inclined to make the drive more regularly. They are a great looking outfit to shoot!!
You know that little voice in your head? My wife says I lack that.

Went by Saginaw Yard earlier. 1174 was working the northeast end. A train facing west (Z145?) had a CITX SD70M-2 leading.

Anybody know when their North Judsen operations will or have begun?
The Indiana thread has been mum on it? Are they going to let the museum run on it?

Only thing I can find seems to indicate the previous operator (CKIN) is still operating the line. I wonder if there weren't some issues with the lease coming from the Co-Alliance elevators, and the idea of Lake State operating the line weren't quietly scrapped.
