Ferromex in negotiations to acquire FEC

The Florida East Coast railroad may be acquired by Ferromex, who is currently nearing a deal with Fortress.

Sounds like there were multiple bidders. I for one am shocked that NS didn't pick that up: it'd be HUGE for them to add Miami to their list of served locations, to compete with CSX.

Same here, I had assumed that if a Class I was to get them, it would have been NS, not a Mexican railroad who doesn't come anywhere near the FEC, lol.
