Hi-cube Covered Hoppers
Hi-cube Covered Hoppers
The latest Railway Age says there are "Hi-cube Covered Hoppers". This is new to me. I'd appreciate any information about them.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

They don't appear to be Excess Height cars so why do they call then Hi-cubes?

High cubic foot capacity vs the little shorty 2 bays or even some 3 and 4 bays. The hi-cube boxes picked up additional capacity by going higher and sometimes longer that the traditional box

Ok, I see now. I thought "Hi-cube" stood for "Excess Height" cars but it's "Additional Cubic Foot Capacity". Thanks.
