Union Railroad, anyone knowledgeable?

Unread post by OSRR »

Always intrigued by the Union Railroad because they're entire roster (to my knowledge) is switcher types.

One thing I can't seem to find and answer to though.. they still (last I checked) use cabooses in the modern age? Why is this?

Is this the same Union Railroad that built many of their caboose fleet from retired locomotive tenders? I remember seeing some pictures of these unique contraptions.

If GLC392 is still around, he's a Union Railroad expert, if I recall correctly...

No, the one that operated around Pittsburgh. Moves a lot of steel related traffic.
