7903 has been in YN3B since 2012 per the spreadsheet :)

Got a question regarding CSX 2547. Built as SCL 547, why does this unit have an oddball nose door on the engineer's side? I spotted it in another photo being worked on in Avon. I know out of any of you, the CSX Encyclopedias would! ;)

Looks like the perfect size for a flag or flare. Might need the 80MAC for this one.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

The YN2 Thread is now abandoned in favor of combining it here. All updates to the roster, along with questions, news, etc should be posted here. :)

This goes along with the launch of TRRS2: http://www.youtube.com/user/TRRS2 . This channel will do the work of updating everything in a monthly video with it all instead of one-by-one posts here. You will no longer find unit-by-unit repaint updates here as we find them, just this update video. Of course, please do post here if you believe you have spotted a new repaint yourself or someone else in a photo, we will be sure to mark it down.

First video: January 2014

If you're on YouTube, don't forget to subscribe! There will also be special episodes from time-to-time about different subjects dealing with the CSX Locomotive Roster.

You should probably cite where you acquired your information.

To start with, I saw the video launch before it was launched, and thought this was pretty neat. Perhaps more exotic than what was needed just to get the information out, but none the less neat. More than anything, this is just another case of you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all the time.

For the most part, MQT3001 gets his information from me. I have been into keeping data on paint scheme changes, new additons and subtractions to the roster since way before Chessie System was even thought of back in the early 1970s. I have, and always have had, a lot of information passed onto me from many people in the know. This, In addition to personal sightings of my own, I have posted or passed along said information to many publications, and later, on line railfan sites including this one. Recently, instead of posting said info myself, I have been passing it along to MQT3001 and let him do it for me. So, why he can, and does, get it from others, most of it comes from myself, While everyone is subject to make mistakes at times, I can assure what is posted on this site, and in the video launch is very accurate, regardless if one does or does not like the video launch.

Breaking now: CSX has retired five RCPHG4s of the nine that were on the roster. The only units left working are the 9156 (Grand Rapids) and the 9151. The 9157 and 9241 are both in storage. So get your pics now, cause they're going fast. We're nticipating the two still stored will be struck with a fork soon, and who knows how long the other two will last. The 9249 left GR at some point over the last few months, perhaps still with that suspension issue reported this past summer.

If our resident SD80MAC felt a shift in the '80mac force this morning, it was the long-retired 4594 meeting the GAS WRENCH. Torched just this morning at Huntington.

4594 had been parted out for the other MACs since it was wrecked a few years ago, so that doesn't come as much of a surprise.

To amend the record, the #9969 is actually ex-MARC 69. This was missed in the proofread phase. The description has been amended.

Might want to add these *NEW* GP38-3 and GP40-3's to your CSX Roster. Photo from Nick O'Dell. These are reportedly FRESH out of Huntington. Welcome CSXT 2000 and CSXT 6500.

Does anyone have any photos of the ex MARC unit on CSX property? Sure, it would free up a 4 motor unit for yard/local service, but other than that I don't see many advantages to using the unit in place of the existing GP40-2.
