I was really hoping that CSCD turd would have gotten new paint when the contractor was there in the spring. Supposed to be top of the list when they return in the winter.
Grain train. The rest was long, which i wasnt expecting.
And easy there. That CSCD loco saved my rear end one night. Im going to miss being able to identify it. But yes its still a turd lol

Thanks for the update. I know the WCH-B sometimes spot and pull grain trains @ Trupointe on trip to Springfield. There's about 140ish DJJX cov hoppers leased for the grain season. Sounds like they will be using them mostly for shipping soybeans out of South Chuck to a Cincy barge terminal.

New I&O lease power has arrived at McCoullugh Yard in the form of Helm Leasing JFDX SD40-2 #8045 (

Saw something you don't see everyday on the northern end of Midland Sub in Grove City..Spotted a lone gondola in the runaround siding adjacent to the Nexeo facility and the three service bays were chocked full of plastic granule hoppers.

Monday afternoon the WCH-A was switching getting ready to head up to Grove City. There was an old NOKL gon that looked like they were getting ready to pick up. Might have ties in it for the rumored work on rebuilding the siding in Grove City so it's again 4200 or so ft.

Wash CH Turn going into Konrad.

Supposedly looking at running some of the pig iron and P&G via Dayton District to avoid Wash CH and 130 trains that takes six locos and two helpers on the rear to get out of Cincy....

They have two loaded grain trains waiting to be pulled (South Chuck and Mechanicsburg I believe) and Valero has a loaded ethanol train ready to come out. Wednesday night's Wash CH Turn almost made it back to Wash CH, didn't matter as Konrad was jammed full of cars. So they left it west of town to try and clear the yard out some.

Nice looking rent-a-wreck. Still haven't heard what the second loco from Helm is going to be. One of the two is fresh from an overhaul and G&W might end up buying both if they turn out to be decent locos.

HLCX 8161 is has been getting a work out on the Midland. It's been on the Wash CH Turn past couple of days along with helping spot a loaded fert train for South Chuck and then bringing an empty 78 car grain train for Cargill down from Springfield. Train came from the CFE for some reason.

LSL with 4072/4083/4070 meeting WC B with HLCX 8161 at Tremont City as I type.
I should also note they planned to swap power so there is a good possibility the north facing leaser will lead back to Lima.
Also Heritage Coop in Thackery has about loads waiting to be pulled.

EDIT:
8161 leading LSL back to Lima, got track warrant to mp183 til foreman Kane clears his equipment. I'm out of time and on my way back north
