Re: Carolina Southern
Me and a few of my friends were taking a walk on our lunch break, and we we went into the woods behind our main Railyard, and look what we found.
We need your help. We need to get this locomotive out of the woods. What can we do? And can all of you help?

If it needs a primemover, we have plenty in storage.

Re: Carolina Southern
It needs alot. It needs a new prime mover, new trucks, traction motors and a decent amount of wiring. Otherwise, it might move.
We also need a track out to it. There is only a deer path through the woods. It is sitting on two wooden blocks and has only one axel.

Re: Carolina Southern
Do you want the whole unit? Its a parts engine. You can have the thing. Do you have connections with either CSX or NS?

Re: Carolina Southern
The whole unit will do. We do have connections to both CSX and NS. We also have built a temporary rail line to tow it our of the woods.

alright, I have connections with the CSX out of Washington DC. They will take the GP7 to you guys. We'll give it to them tomorrow. So you should get it by Wednesday, maybe Thursday at the latest. The GP7 is MNTX 131

Re: Carolina Southern
Ok, so we have had a closer inspection. We asked around the town and some of the older retired railroad employees/veterans have talked to us about that old "Geep in the Woods of Terror."
"The Old Mutant Geep" they called it. Three different railroads had built it together. Burlington Northern, Orangeville Brampton, and the Utah Belt had combined 3 different GP9s to build the Ultimate SD09, a "Super Geep",to replace all of the EMD GP7/9s in the country, but it turned out to be a failure. So they had sold it to NW, and they had an old spur in the woods, the resting place of the failed GP, where they parked it, removed the rails, and left it for over 31 years.
After a bit of research, we came up with the locomotives used. Rebuilt with the low nose and cab from BN GP9 # 1813, Middle Hood and Prime Mover rebuilt with Orangeville Brampton GP9 # 1000, and The base frame, wiring, traction motors, and rear end components from Utah Belt GP7 # 1500.
We have build 2 more tracks out to the old GP, because we plan on rebuilding the traction motors, wiring, and the prime mover right then and there.

Re: Carolina Southern
Marquette is willing to part with 2 Geep trucks right now, fully complete and ready to go, if the price is right. We can ship them next-day.

MNTX has already offered us a Complete GP7 as a parts engine. We appreciate the offer, but we already have one ordered.

Re: Carolina Southern
A mutant geep, interesting. We've got something along those lines. Its a rebuilt E-8. We call it a CE-8, it's basically 2 GP9 hoods, a GP40 cab, on a E8 frame. We have 2 CE-8A and 1 CE-8B.
