Pedestrian/Train Accident - Albion, MI

The incident happened just after 10 a.m. near East Superior Street and North Michigan Avenue.

A witness told 24 Hour News 8 that the victim was apparently riding a bike when he was struck. A medical helicopter was called to the area to assist, the witness said.

The victim's condition was not immediately available. Albion Department of Public Safety officers and other emergency officials are on the scene.

Probably in rough shape if the called a bird in to take the pedestrian out.

I just don't understand how stupid one can be to get hit by a train. Whenever I'm around/near railroad crossings, I'm extremely cautious and aware of my surroundings.

Minor point, but a cyclist is NOT a pedestrian.

I was reading through the comments on one news article and according to someone who knows and spoke to the family the guy had headphones on and didn't hear or see the train until the last minute.
