High Point and Rome Locomotive Leasing - HPRX

This is the topic for HPRX. We are a subsidiary of the High Point and Rome RR that leases locomotives. We also are planning a tour of the entire east coast and midwest provided railroads are willing to host.

Current Lease Fleet -
HPRX 45 - HPLB 45-CWAC
HPRX 3800 - HPLB B38AC
HPRX 4500 - HPLB 45-CWDC

The 45-CWs are going on a test/tour of the east coast and midwest. A railroad will volunteer to host, and in turn will get to use the locomotives for ten days on their system. The railroad can choose to place an order for units like this, and HPLB will build them. The locomotives currently listed are not available for long term lease currently, as they are to become HPR units. We are currently constructing more and our shops are running at maximum capacity between painting the HPR SD70s and building more 45-CWs. HPLB also has other locomotives in their catalogue, including a 4 axle road unit and a switcher. PLEASE TEST THESE UNITS

Penn Central would like to test your units out, please have NS route them up to Cincinnati where we will take delivery of them. After the test is complete, we will return them to NS at Cincy to be returned to you again.

HPR will take them to Chattanooga to have them put on 298 from Chattanooga to Cincinnati. They should get there on the 20th, and you will need to have them back in Cincinnati on the 30th for their return trip on NS 387.
