Detroit Kansas City & Mexico Railroad

Unread post by atrainguy60 »

The Wabash Railroad never ended up to be part of NS. It only owns the Detroit-St Louis/Kansas City mainline now. All other Wabash lines have been sold off to other railroads. The Wabash IS part of the organized paper railroads. I will be posting the map of it soon, maybe tomorrow if I remember. The current Wabash paint scheme is the same old blue and gray and white Wabash paint scheme. The main kind of freight the Wabash hauls are automobiles, auto parts, grain, and intermodal. NS has trackage rights from Fort Wayne to Butler, Indiana.

Are they able to exchange cars via haulage or trackage rights?

Does NS still own East Wayne yard near Ft. Wayne or does your version of the Wabash own it? I send an interchange train over there at least once a day, if not more and need to know.

Right now, Wabash doesn't have trackage rights from the former G&O to the Wabash mainline in Melvindale. But if it's ok with the DT&C, the local between Millington and Sterling Heights will(as needed) go to Melvindale over DT&C tracks.

That's good to know. Also I control the diamond at Mike Tower where your mainline crosses my Penn Central line in Fort Wayne, IN. There's an operator in the tower who will line up your routes for you, so you have to call him for permission to get across whenever your trains show up. Oh and one more thing, I have trackage rights on the Wabash mainline from Mike to Snake Track so that my interchange trains can reach the NS yard.

Since I'm a former resident of New Haven, IN I'm offering my services to help you out with any details you need to know about the Wabash line thru New Haven and Ft. Wayne in terms of tracks, industries, etc. Example, unless you're leaving their traffic to NS and PC, there is a large General Motors Truck assembly plant right next to your mainline at Roanoke, IN that is large enough that NS keeps a crew there to simply switch cars inside the plant. There's also a local from East Wayne to Roanoke that runs pretty much daily and several auto rack trains either originate or terminate from there. Also the auto parts trains, like NS 181, make set offs and pick ups as well. Anymore details you'd like to know about here or any other industry, just ask :)

The real WAB tracks are TSCR owned. Only as far as the ex-WAB yard at the west end of the ex-MAW.
I'm just here to put in time claims and complain

The Wabash crosses the Marquette and Romulus, and also connects to the Marquette at Delray and Melvindale.

The Wabash has two passenger trains: the Wabash Cannon Ball and the City of St Louis. The Wabash Cannon Ball goes from Kansas City to Detroit, and the City of St Louis goes from St Louis to Kansas City. Both trains can reach 85mph if the track is straight and smooth enough. The Wabash Cannon Ball stops at: Moberly MO, Hannibal IL, Jacksonville IL, Springfield IL, Decatur IL, Danville IL, Lafayette IN, Fort Wayne IN, Adrian MI, and finally Detroit MI. The City of St Louis stops at: Moberly MO, Mexico MO, Warrentown MO, and then St Louis MO. There are two Wabash Cannon Ball trains, one westbound and one eastbound. There is three City of St Louis trains, all of them round trips. The EB Wabash Cannon Ball is supposed to leave Kansas City at 10:00am, and the WB is supposed to leave Detroit at 10:00am too. The City of St Louis trains numbers are 100, 101, and 102. 100 leaves Kansas City at 8:00am, and arrives at St Louis at 12:00pm, and then leaves St Louis at 2:00pm and arrives at Kansas City at 6:00pm. 101 leaves St Louis leaves 8:00am and arrives at Kansas City at 12:00pm, and leaves Kansas City at 2:00pm and arrives at St Louis at 6:00pm. 102 leaves Kansas City at 5:00pm and arrives at St Louis 9:00pm, and leaves St Louis at midnight and arrives at Kansas City at 4:00pm.

You probably hit the button...it didn't do anything for a split second, so you hit it again....it's a glitch that IS avoidable, but even I get it sometimes.

BTW, You're on your own as far as interchanging with MQT unless you drag it to Plymouth, Flint, or Rougemere
