Just curious... How many are for sale? We might as well begin buying power now so we don't end up having a shortage when the trains begin running.

Probably 6-8, but we wouldn't hesitate to sell 10. (we have 18). We will be using those in yards where the cuts of cars are usually very heavy, such as Alpena. We plan on using GP60B units in the middle, and the whole thing set up for remote control. Any of the other yards we plan on ordering Gensets for.

Also, we are in the process of upgrading these to GP35-3s, and would be happy to do that then hand them over. We can modify them however you'd like, including aux power units, remote control ops, ect. The package already includes a new set of trucks and in some cases new prime movers (the old ones will be reused, but it's easier to assemble a replacement, swap engines, then work on the removed engine before fitting it into anothr unit; its a time saving thing that also gives us extra time to do a complete scan of the ENTIRE power plant, so you know you've got quality)

Hmmmm... Alright, we'll take 8 of the '35's. Just one more question though... What kind of trucks do they have on them now, and which ones would you put on?

More progress has been made on the commuter program. The location for the staging yard will be in Livonia, MI. This is where all passenger locomotives and passenger cars will be stored when their trains are not running. It may also double as a frieght yard, but that has not yet been determined.

8 GP35's have also been ordered from Marquette Rail. These may or may not be used in the commuter program.

Thats what they currently have, but since MQT will be upgrading them (let me know what you want, the current chages include, but are not limited to: Standard EMD trucks as found on GP40s (just about all-new everything), new rebuilt prime mover featuring mostly new parts, new electronics, ect. The units will NOT have PTC equipement unless you ask. We can add anything you want, just let me know. Also, what paint scheme do you want? Primer?).
So, they will have standard GP40 trucks and parts.
AUX power units are available to provide power to passenger cars.
We should have them ready in a week to three weeks, depending on which units you get.

The changes you listed will be fine. PTC is not needed. And please add auxiliary power units, as they may be used on passenger trains. Grey primer will be fine as well.

Our roster will go through a giant shift tomorrow, so I've been working on that. I will know much more about a timeframe for the upgrade completions and stuff after tomorrow.

Also, what road numbers would you like?

Don't worry about time, we won't need the locos for a while anyway, since the commuter system won't be starting for quite some time. The numbers will be 226-233.

DR&EC's newest locomotives, GP35-3s #226 and #227, have been set out at interchange. MQT Rail has a 2-year warranty on most parts installed during the overhaul.

We hope these units are good to you, the rest should be out by early next week

All your GP35-3s are complete, with the last two currently enroute to Rougemere as the leaders on 12-unit power move. Currently Holding the Main 1 at EE Trowbridge for a coal drag to pass.
